Lei come in many shapes, forms and colors. By far the most widespread throughout the islands is the orchid lei — and for good reason, too.
Strong Like An Ox
The orchid lei's best attribute, if you ask us, is its durability. Though they are elegant, they also are strong and hold up well in shipping and throughout all times of the year.
And whereas all lei will begin to degrade as a person wears it, with some proper TLC — keeping it refrigerated, for example — you might find yourself able to get more than one wear out of it.
Colorful Like A Rainbow
The fun thing about orchids is the variety of colors they come in: purple, white, green and sometimes even pink. It pretty much means the options are limitless. One of our favorite combos is the incorporate three of the most readily available hues: purple, green and white.
Amazingly Versatile
Sure, everyone is familiar with a classic purple orchid variety — the flowers strung in a single strand to create the lei that people receive at airports or when checking in at a hotel. But there are other ways to use the orchid flower to create other stunning lei as well.
Our Spiral Orchid Lei, for example, is made with thousands of individual orchid petals that are intricately folded and then sewn to create a swirl of color that you draws the eye. Our Christina Orchid Lei is made by taking the "throat" of the orchid flower — or the petal at the center of an orchid — and stringing it in a back-and-forth pattern to create the most unbelievable adornment that promises to be a showstopper.
