So You've Got Yourself A Lei Or Tropical Bouquet

We hope you love your handcrafted lei or tropical flowers — a little bit of aloha delivered fresh from Honolulu, Hawai‘i, right to your door. Here are some simple steps to ensure it remains in tip-top shape.

Lei Care Instructions

1. Open your Hawai‘i Lei Stand box & cooler bag as soon as possible. Your lei has made quite the journey, so you want to give it as much TLC as possible. Yes, you can take the lei out to admire — in fact, we encourage it. Now is the time to get in touch with us ASAP if you have any questions.

2. Gently pat dry excess moisture. It's entirely normal for your lei to arrive looking dewy. There are a number of temperature fluctuations your box may encounter once it is with FedEx as it journeys from our shop to their plane and from their facilities to your home.

3. Return lei to its container or bag and refrigerate until use. Please note that you should never store your lei in the freezer. We recommend putting it in the vegetable/fruit drawer of your fridge if you have space. Otherwise, any spot will do. Remember: The longevity of flowers is greatly helped when it is chilled immediately.

4. Share the aloha! Congratulations, you've reached the final and best step! In Hawai‘i it's tradition for a hug to accompany lei gift-giving, but do whatever feels comfortable to you. However you choose to share your lei, have fun with it!

A note about fragrant lei: Lei made with tuberose, ginger, pīkake and pakalana flowers are extra delicate. With this in mind, handle with care and definitely pop it into the fridge as soon as you can to help preserve its tantalizing scent.

Tropical Flower Care Instructions

1. Add cold tap water and flower food to a clean vase. The flower food is in the little packet attached to your tropical bouquet and will help keep your stems healthy, like vitamins. Be sure to put enough water to keep things hydrated — about 4-6 inches depending on the vase should do the trick.

2. Trim the stems at a 45-degree angle. Regular scissors will do the job just fine.

3. Now for the fun part: arrange your flowers! There's no right or wrong way to do this. If you've receive a larger bouquet, you might even want to split the buds up into multiple vases. The only correct way to go about doing this is to have fun.

4. Refresh water daily.
